Friday 5ives: The best moments in GTD

It's friday, that means it's time again for the Friday 5ives. Every friday I will take a subject within the field of GTD, personal productivity and lifehacking and wrap it up in a list of 5. Last week we looked at 5 ways to deal with tedious tasks. Today we'll be checking out the 5 best moments in the GTD-system!
  1. Zero inbox: This is a beauty. What better way to see that you are really starting with GTD than to look at an empty Inbox. Check this image of an empty Inbox. Nice huh!
  2. More than three Weekly Reviews in a row: To have a Weekly Review on the day you really planned it is already a task within itself. Well, for me it is. To have two reviews in two weeks is giving you already the shivers. But to have a third review right after eachother, you're flying! After that, I hope the Weekly Review becomes a habit for you. Check out my list for things I do in a Weekly Review and the interruptions I have while doing it...
  3. Find old reference material in seconds: This is so much fun and I enjoy it every time. My filesystem at work is getting better and better. Not only digital but also analog. My desk is clean of any files I am not using. But I can find anything within 30 seconds. Even when it's older than 30 days or very obscure. Nice to know that you don't loose stuff once it's out of sight. As long as you trust your system.
  4. Call 10 people in 7 minutes without hesitation what you are calling about: The magic of listmaking. When I am in the car for longer than 30 minutes, I take my list of people to call and just work my way down. Great while waiting in a trafficjam! And the best thing, I don't have to think about who I should call and what their number is, since I just have it with me on a list.
  5. Things get done!: This is by far the best moment in GTD-ness. You look back and you see actually finished the project. And you feel proud and happy. And you should. The best thing of Getting Things Done for me is....wel....getting things done!

Have a great Easter-holiday!

Really nice post! I think something like this is a great motivational tool. For example, instead of just saying how important weekly reviews are, you explain how good it feels to do them consistently. We all like feeling good!

Take care,
Andrew

I am curious as to what you have done to conquer #3 — maybe you listed this in the past — if you could include a link, that would be great!

TIA
